1.1. Definition of embedded system

An embedded system is a combination of computer hardware and software designed for a specific function. An embedded system is system designed to perform a specific function and is a combination of both hardware and firmware or software. For example, you need electrical installation that will turning ON itself the lamps n the night and turning OFF automatically in the morning without any human physical intervention. That system will be composed by physical or hardware component like lamps, wires by but there is tangible switch that will be used to turn ON/OFF lamps. The switch off that system will be codes.

That means, codes will be considered software while wires and lamps will be hardware. That combination of hardware components and software components for the purpose of turning ON/OFF lamps is called embedded system. The systems consist of hardware components, such as microcontrollers or microprocessors, and software tailored to execute predefined tasks efficiently. The software, commonly known as firmware, is designed to interact with the hardware to achieve a specific goal. Embedding means putting or inserting something inside of another thing.
